of the following 4 shots. Briefly explain your rationale for each answer and how the camera
shot/lens choice worked to further the story of this short film.

The opening shot of the film is a wide angle shot that shows the protagonist walking
toward the camera. This shot works to establish the setting and give the viewer a sense of the
protagonist’s surroundings. The wide angle lens allows the viewer to see the protagonist in
relation to his surroundings and gives a sense of the scale of the setting. This shot also works to
establish the protagonist’s character as someone who is curious and exploring their surroundings.

The shot after he discovers the éclair and looks around is a narrow angle shot of the man’s
face. This shot is used to show the protagonist’s face as he looks around to see if anyone is
watching him. The close up shot makes the viewer feel as if they are right there with the man,
feeling his anticipation and excitement as he prepares to eat the cake. The close up also allows us
