What were group therapy techniques demonstrated? How well do you believe these
techniques were demonstrated?
In the Video “Role Play: Group Counseling for Adolescents with Anxiety,” the group
therapy technique is used as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT concentrates on
recognizing and understanding negative thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors and then
developing strategies to replace them with positive, healthy, and adaptive ones. The Video
demonstrated CBT in a group setting by providing a safe and supportive space for the
adolescents to explore and express their feelings, identify triggers and warning signs of anxiety,
and develop coping strategies to manage their stress.
I believe CBT was demonstrated well because the group facilitator demonstrated several
effective techniques, such as creating a safe, non-judgmental space for the adolescents and
providing them with the opportunity to role-play scenarios to practice their coping strategies. The
facilitator also provided psychoeducation, helping the adolescents understand anxiety’s causes
