What is a breach?
Agreement breaches are violations of the terms and conditions of a legally binding
agreement, such as a breach of confidentiality. Late payment or inability to deliver an asset are
all examples of a breach of the contract (Seanego,2020). It is critical to be able to demonstrate
the occurrence of a breach before filing a claim.
Did the cast commit an anticipatory breach or a breach when they asked for more
money during the contract? If the cast is found to be in breach, what type of remedies
could NBC recover? Do you agree/disagree with Jay Leno’s comments
First, let’s remember that the Friends cast members started off with little salaries when it
comes to the entertainment sector. The program finally gained enormous acclaim and became a
major source of money for the production company. When you think about it, the stars were a
big role in this accomplishment, and they deserve a piece of it from their studio (Schelhaas, et al.
2021). If the actors of Friends had not threatened to strike, would the studio have agreed to split
some of their profits with them? Probably not.
Because of this, I believe there is some ambiguity in this section. The threat of a strike by
the actors immediately before the autumn lineup announcement seemed a touch harsh to the
studio. After the program grew so popular and profitable, the studio should have initiated a
salary raise for the performers.
In my opinion, it’s OK for actors to seek for additional money before their contracts
expire. In every business, contract renewal negotiations begin before the contract’s expiration
date, thus we should look at things from this perspective.
